We Need Our Art

I received that link one day. It was a podcast. Of course, I did not want to play it cause who terrorises others with a recording longer than a few seconds! But I did. I listened. And I related. And I was buzzing inside. So I ordered the book they were talking about in the podcast. The book came, all new and pretty. Of course, I started reading it right away and... I am struggling.

My Art : Day One

I am struggling because this book, 'We Need Your Art' by Amie McNee inspires you to create right from the second you have it in your hands. Going through a five-page introduction took me maybe 20 minutes? 99% of this time I spent drawing, and doodling, and marking, and underlining, and writing with my four-not-your-usual-colors BIC pen on the pages of my new book. Book with a mission to make me discover my creativity. No, believe in my creativity. Become an artist on my own terms, of my own quality, of my own voice, whatever those are.

So I begin the adventure. I am on official page 3 of the book and I am taking a break already, cause all those drawings and thinking and day-dreaming when pushing through the introduction has already worn me out. In a very good way.

I will have to take this position in small portions, because every good remedy works well microdosed. I will keep this post open to update you on my thoughts, feelings and maybe art. Yes, art. I am already learning to call my creations that. I will be on a long, but fun journey. Hop on!
